>Kapala is a Sanskrit term that can be translated as “skull”, “bowl”. In the Buddhist and Hindu tantra traditions, kapalas are used to hold various substances during rituals or to place on an altar. The authentic traditional kapala is a human skull cap.
. This kapala was brought back from Nepal by a Buddhist practitioner. It is not very old. It is adorned with the head of Mahakala, protector of the teachings and destroyer of obstacles on the path.
