Shell Mala

This mala was inspired by a Kagyüpa of our friends, from Poitiers, who provided the shell beads. The idea was to create a piece connected to vital force, more than that of healing, so all the materials used are products of beings living in water, the primary source of all life.

One half of the mala is associated with the red mandala, the mother tiglé being represented by two coral beads, the other half of the mala is associated with the white mandala, the father tiglé being represented by two fresh-water pearls.
A gold bead symbolises solar, masculine energy and a silver bead symbolises lunar, feminine energy. The three beads at the head, shell, pearl and coral, represent the union of two mandalas.

The two side counters are of fresh-water pearls, slightly oval, and are finished with two small shells.

This mala is particularly inspiring for the practice of purification, for healing and longevity. If it were to be associated with a Divinity, it would be white Tara and/or VajraSattva.
